Open Arena 8.5 is out now for any interested I uploaded the .zip here http://monsterforce.net/oa/oa085p.zip if you want I may have only gotten the linux version form some reason who knows.
It's really a patch to just extract the file to the openarena base directory. or where that file is located.

I thought the time this game got patches was over seeing the date of the last patch.
